PEN was awarded a grant from the Suffolk Community Foundation to enable primary schools and secondary schools to develop their parental engagement.
The primary schools were able to access training and resources to enable them to better engage parents to support their children’s learning, including the Nursery Transition Project (EYFS), Playclub (KS1) and the Family Detective Reading Project (KS2).
The secondary schools will be helping to support new pupils and their families by using the Moving Up strategies and resources.
The grant enabled schools to trial, adapt and evaluate strategies and resources which were new to Suffolk and which, if successful, could be embedded into school practice. Case studies of successful work and developments will be written up.
The case studies and lessons learnt from implementing the strategies will be disseminated to other schools in Suffolk.
